Seed GoddessThe Seed Goddess, ,[3] was the personification of the seed of the creator god. She was forbidden to anybody but the creator god himself and violating her would lead to a terrible death by poisoning. This did not prevent Seth from copulating with her after he had seen her bathing, some suggest that she seduced Seth.[1][2] He fell ill because of his sacrilegious act, possibly poisoned by the goddess herself–the word mtw.t, "seed", used can also mean "poison" [2]–and Anat intervened with Re, asking the creator god to save him. Re ordered Isis to remedy Seth with the help of her knowledge of magic. Bibliography: Zahi A. Hawass, Janet Richards (eds), The archaeology and art of ancient Egypt: essays in honor of David B.
