Foxes![]() Red fox Source: M. Audrain, The Glory of Egypt The fennec or Desert Fox lives in most parts of Egypt, though mainly in the desert. It is small (height about 20 cm), has large eyes and huge ears having a length of up to 15 cm. It hunts small animals, lizards, mice, and insects, but feeds also on succulent leaves and berries. Red foxes, significantly taller than the fennec, were depicted in hunting scenes. Their diet is similar to that of the fennec. |
